Artist Music Academy – The Academy of Artists has high expectations for its students. Through private lessons, studio lessons, chamber music ensemble, and composition classes, students learn technique, skills, musicianship, and more from professionally trained teachers. It offers students opportunities to give recitals and master classes, as well as free recitals by faculty, students and guest artists. We use a purpose-built comprehensive curriculum that provides students with a solid foundation of musical knowledge and promotes strong social and personal values.

Designed for 1st and 2nd graders, this program helps young students explore fundamental concepts such as music, pitch, tempo, and rhythm through engaging, interactive activities. These ideas are fun and youth-friendly to share with students. This basic musical knowledge lays the foundation for private lessons on a specific instrument.
The Preparatory Program is intended to lay the foundation for students to be successfully accepted into the Apprenticeship Program. Students in the preparatory program are selected by lottery each year.
Students are in grades 3 through 12 when they apply, with little or no musical background. These students are selected through an aptitude test that ranks the music class at the rate required by the class. All students accepted into the program will have a weekly schedule of: 30-minute private lessons on an instrument of their choice, a 1-hour class where they will learn music theory and basic techniques for writing their own music, and a studio class . They have demonstrated their performance skills in practice.

The Apprenticeship Program is intended to provide a foundation for successful acceptance of students into the Emerging Artist Program.
The program is designed for students of all ages who can pass a placement test consisting of a comprehensive theory test and an exam. These students demonstrate an understanding of basic musical knowledge and are therefore ready for advanced private lessons with a member of our faculty. All students accepted into the program will have a weekly schedule: 45 minutes of private lessons on the instrument of their choice, 1 hour of class, where they will learn different compositional styles and techniques to further develop their understanding of music composition. (Includes occasional workshops).
