The motion said Turner, who testified about grooming and its effect on child sex abuse victims, told jurors his wages were $250 an hour when a pre-trial contract showed he was paid $450 an hour for his work. While the contract shows that he worked for 6.5 hours, he also said that he worked for two hours in this case.
“As the record reflects, the government did nothing to correct Turner’s testimony or to indicate to the jury that Dr. Turner did not testify correctly,” Bonjean wrote in his motion. “In the case at bar, the government’s case … turned on the credibility of the complainants. The government bolstered complainants’ credibility with the ‘expert testimony’ of a witness who knowingly made false statements and misled the jury.

“When the evidence is sufficient to prove a criminal sexual exploitation violation under the Illinois Penal Code, the defendant: (1) enticed or induced Jane to engage in prohibited conduct; or (2) did so with the intent to produce trafficking footage,” Bonjean wrote. “The production of images was conducive to sexually suggestive behavior, it was not the purpose of the behavior.”
