Iandoli, with the help of a man who was one of the last to see the singer alive, has also denied previous reports since insisting he was due to fly.
Reportedly, anxious flyer Aaliyah actually refused to board the small plane, believing her seven-person entourage and all their luggage would be too heavy for the plane to carry.
That was the statement made by Kingsley Russell, a Bahamian boy who was 13 at the time and worked as a star baggage handler in his family’s taxi and hospitality business.

Russell’s mother was Aaliyah’s chauffeur on the island, and she told Indoli she spoke with the star on the way to the airport, as The Daily Beast first reported.
Frustration mounted when the plane finally arrived and Aaliyah refused to board it, she says in the book.
Members of his entourage then reportedly began arguing with the pilot after he told them the plane would be too heavy for eight passengers and all their luggage.

The team member then handed Aaliyah pills, Russel said, which she took before “getting a good night’s sleep.”

“I remember when Aaliyah died, I was really devastated,” Indoli told The Daily Beast. “The story goes that he insisted on getting on the plane. I almost got mad at him. Why do you want to get on that plane?
“Knowing that he didn’t want to get on the plane, for people like me and a lot of other people, I think it’s closure.” It’s unfortunate closure… but I need to hear that he doesn’t want to. board a plane; I need to know that. The man who I think has the most common sense in the world had the common sense not to get on the plane.
